Abstract – In software engineering and related areas, some reference models, frameworks, and guides, such as the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK Guide), Software Engineering 2014 Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in Software Engineering (SE2014) and Computing Curricula 2020 (CC2020) have been adopted well as a fundamental basis for continuously developing curricula and industrial training programs. This panel overviews these guides’ status and evolution, then explores their impacts on higher education and training. Moreover, the panel envisions future directions of software engineering education, guides, and their connections.
